THE LENS OF A LOVER
In this photo series, artist Liubov Sliusareva explores the theme of love. Her research explores the duality of emotions, their light and shadow sides. Created using the classical positive film process (E6, 35mm), the images were prepared for slide projection as part of Hooligan Art Community's residency at Somerset House, London.

I wanted to to explore the idea that the only way to feel alive is through the feeling of love, especially in the darkest times of life. What does it mean to see people with the eyes of a lover and how is it possible to be violent if you have the experience of love? The images touch upon the unconscious, and the light and shadow sides of love. They explore duality - from one side passion, addiction, anger, and from the other pleasure, hope and optimism.
